Default 002R main left output distortion

The unit is 3 months "old" so it should not have the power harness problems.
Sometimes I need to power up again the unit etc.. but thats it, until now.
My set up is:

-G4 1.25 DP
- OS 10.3.2.
-768 SDRam
-002R clocked by a ISA 428-ADAT
-PTLE 6.2.3

My monitor outputs feed a pair of Dynaudio BM6A and yesterday i began to notice the dreadful distoriton on the Left channel.
First I thought I had blown the monitor .When I changed outputs i noticed it was not the Dyns, but the main out of the 002R.
In PT if i change main outs to 3-4, the problem does not reproduce (but I need to bring down the Master, not good).
CoreAudioManger is 6.5.2 and all apps using it show the same problem.
I have repaired premissions, trashed prefs.. nothing. My dealer is out on vacations and I have a gig to record soon

Thanks in advance

Searched the DUC and only found a similar problem at the LE Win forum http://duc.digidesign.com/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=UBB32

Does it sound like power harness to you?
I will try installing PT 6.4.
6.2.3. was fine but now maybe this will help.
Anything else come sto your minds apart from giving myself to booze?
(wich i have done already anyway)

Maybe just the jack ?? I don't know.. It is ONLY that one channel no matter how you route it ?? Or by doing various routing can you make any of the other channels do it as well ?? If so,, then it is NOT the jack... BUT if not,, then it just may be the jack..

But my main advise would be to do a COMPLETE and utter process of elimination like I mentioned above but even more elaborate, then you can zero in on ONE THING,,.... ya know ?? Like it is definitely just this ONE input/channel , or it does it on other channels, but ONLY when I do "THIS" ......

Well zero in,,, and let us know more....

Hope this will help (soon)

Hi Infa,
From my last elimination trials I have zeroed that the problem occurs at to outputs:
-Left monitor out
-Left headphones out

The main 1/2 and 3/4 ,5/6, 7/8 outs don't distort.

Could be that these two jacks have gone down at the same time but It does seem strange.

I haven´t been able to upgrade to 6.4 because I did lend the Getting started guide to a young lad, and it never came back.
I did not realize the only place were the authorization code resides is the Getting started guide.
So apparently I cannot DL from Digi.
I´m a registered user and I have my product serials. I'm doing something wrong surely.

Thanks for your response Infa and Studio 101.
¿Anything else worth looking at?

Yeah, studio 101 is right. Just call Digi tech, and they will take care of you. If you are registered, they will do you fine.
When zeroing down to what you did,,, well to me, it is no way a jack thing now. That is something wierd with-in the box itself. No new version software will fix that either. Your unit needs to be physically fixed. Call Digi tech, and Cust. ser. right away......

Good Luck

Hi,
Did you ever resolve your issue?
I am afraid my system started showing the same problem (distortion in left channel) just today...
Am curious about the fix possibilities.

You could try trashing prefs.

Beyond that, if you can definitely hear it on all main, monitor and headphone outputs, you should contact tech support by phone for further troubleshooting.
