Welcome to the community.

It's possible that it was registered by another user, then returned and resold. We've also had a few reports of customers creating multiple iLok accounts and depositing licenses to one while registering their iLok to the other.

In either case, Avid CS would need your iLok User ID and the iLok's serial number which should not be posted to a public forum. Please click Contact Support at avid.com/learn-and-support/contact-audio-and-music-support and start a support case to provide this info.

Hello, same problem here!

I bought this iLok and use it only for Slate Digital plugins. Now I want to register another plugin and found out that it's owned by another user?! It's simply impossible...

Please HELP!!!

Welcome to the community.

I have yet to see a new iLok that's already registered. They have either been bought/registered/returned (and sold as new) or inadvertently registered to a different account than the licenses were deposited to (as in the case of the user that posted before you).

To solve this, Avid CS needs your iLok User ID and the iLok's serial number which should not be posted to a public forum, so please click Contact Support at avid.com/learn-and-support/contact-audio-and-music-support and start a support case to provide this info.

For me, it turned out that I was looking to activate the new ilok on the old ilok account. I had an old sign in for my pt9 i lok and I made a new ilok accoutant when I registered the new pt 12 on Avid; as a result, I was looking in my 9 account and there was nothing new. Go back to your Avid account and clarify if the name on the Avid PT account (for ilok verification)is the same. I bet that is where your issues are

AVID Audio Licensing Support helped me helped to find out my other iLok ID. Stupid problem solved! Feeling grateful!

And that is likely for the same reasons as other folks here. Did you notice the questions asked of them? Like was it a new iLok, where was it purchased, did the packaging looked open, are you sure you have the right iLok ID (how many do you have), etc.....

The fastest response may be to deal with where you purchased the iLok and hope they will swap it, or to contact iLok support.
