yes, all of these required a system restart. And they were the
audio looping SWOD variety of crash. The most recent one
occurring with 3 horn players on the clock.

I've already sent your guy @ vi@digi... the crash logs.

What I meant was - in what way were the sessions themselves different. Different sample rate? File type? Bit depth? Were you using video in them and not the others or vice versa? Any particular plug-ins you were using in them and not the others? Etc, Etc...

Sessions were the same. 44.1/24bit/bwf/ click plug and single echoboy ONLY. No video/etc....about 40 audio tracks, one master track, one aux... Recording to same drive/ no other apps open except QuickKeys/yada, yada,....
IOW, No difference than any of the prior sessions.

Unbelievably frustrating...

docric,

I have a very similar system and haven´t had any problems since cs3.
Your signature says your still on cs2, but you said in an earlier post that you´re on cs3. But it also says you´re running 10.5.6. Have you tried 10.5.7 yet. Just a thought...

Yeah, I'm on cs3. It HAS been much more stable than cs2, however the crash during the horn session yesterday has put "The FEAR " back in me... It required a full restart, which is a bit of a time killer with 3rd party converters.
I'll try your suggestion of 10.5.7... I musta' missed the compato announcement for it. Just checked and "Yep", it's up there on the compato charts. Thanks.

I've also run into another bug during playback in the Workspace browser.
Try this:
1) put a CD in the drive, and then play it from the Workspace browser.
2) While the track's playing, click anywhere else within the waveform of that track to "FF or RWD" it. This crashes my system EVERY TIME. Whether or not a session is open.

Are you seeing this on your system also?

Well, unfortunately 10.5.7 didn't fix the Workspace Bug...
but maybe it'll help with the other issues...

DTS, are other folks seeing this? It's 100% reproducible...

I'm on Holiday 'til next month, so I can't check right now,
but I will as soon as I get back.
And yeah, I know about a full restart with 3rd party converters
and Adat-Bridges, especially when the clock is running.

Cheers, Martin
