Default Video demonstrating how to conform (assemble) location WAVs with EdiLoad and PT HD

Having issues getting an AAF or OMF that works? Wondering how to conform your original location WAV files to match the audio in a picture cut? The following video explains why you may want to consider using EdiLoad with the Pro Tools field recorder functions to conform your location WAVs. It also shows how the new 'Match' windows in EdiLoad v3.3 check that the edit list data will link to your location WAVs before exporting the conform reference tracks.

Great video - Thanks.

I have kind of an odd question for you. I/We use EdiLoad to conform 5.0 and 5.1 mixed stems to new edits using the method that you outlined in your video. When EdiLoad brings the stems in, they come in the following order: L/R/C/Ls/Rs/Lfe.

Is there an easy way to correct this?

Randall

Hi Randall,

If you are using the EdiLoad conform reference tracks to link and re-cut your mix stems in Pro Tools, then aren't you loading the mix stems into Pro Tools and not EdiLoad?

I'm not sure exactly how Pro Tools orders the channels in a 5.0 and 5.1 stem while expanding or if this can be changed. However I see this is the default 5.1 path order in the IO Setup window, so it's probably intentional. I'd say you'd need to split your expanded track(s) to mono, re-order the monos as required and move the clips back to a multi-channel track.

Regards,

Mark
