Disappearing Regions in PTHD 7.3.1

We are having some pretty frightening issues with v.7.3.1 that we downloaded recently.

Regions are disappearing in the edit window. It's sometimes dependant on zoom level, meaning that as you zoom out the regions will reappear (but zoom back in and they're gone again). Sometimes they are gone completely. Sometimes a blank region will reappear in its place.

The only fix we've found that will work is to duplicate the tracks and consolidate all the edits (wich isn't exactly an ideal solution since the editing isn't what could be considered "finished").

The sessions were started originally in an earlier HD verison (drum tracking), but all the tracks that are having problems are ones that were only present in post-upgrade sessions. We've tried re-saving (save as...) and re-making (start new and import data...) the sessions but the problem still crops up.

Our setup includes:
Dual 2.7 G5
OSX 10.4.6
2.5G ram
HD3 system w/ 1 Accel card
Sync IO
2x 192's
2x Apogee AD8000's
Pro Control
OWC Neptune 160G FW audio drive

Any help or advice for making this problem go away would be greatly appreciated.

Only OS 10.4.8 is officially qualified with 7.3.x. Maybe a good place to start?

Crap!! Thats still around? I bailed from 7.2 and went back to 7.1 for that exact reason. If 7.3.1 is still loosing regions thats a real bad sign!! This problem has been around since late Sept. Now late Jan and still no fix?? WTF!! Ive told most of my fellow PT friends and studios to stay at 7.1. Not to make anybody mad here but those bugs are completly unacceptable in a professional recording studio. Highly doubt 10.4.6 is the culprit.

Have you tried trashing preference and database files yet?

Are you resaving to the same drive or a different drive? If it's to the same drive - what happens if you try a different drive?
