Initial Set-up Questions

Hello all,

I finally got my G4 and installed the hardware and PT software last night (still need to install my second internal HD). When I launched the Demo Session, all I initially heard from the monitors was "static". In the mix window, I turned the master volume all the way down and very gradually started to turn it up. I was finally able to hear the session faintly and then with adequate volume, however, I barely had the fader engaged.

Did I do something wrong in the installation? Is there something not obviously noted in the set-up manual that I missed? I would have thought I could get much more fader control than I am getting.

See if the apparent volume is also low coming out of the headphone output. If it's fine there, then you've probably got a mismatch between the digi outputs and your monitor.

Make sure the monitor volume knob is turned up close to full (on the front panel of the 001).

What you described isn't the way mine worked.
