Capturing in Media Composer triggered by PT via Satellite....

Hello all,

I am looking for any experience with capturing with Media Composer triggered by Pro Tools via satellite... It says you can capture using Mojo DX and or Nitrous but I have yet to find any further information on how this is done and how to set this up.

How does it trigger video capture? Can I link the record in PT to trigger the Media Composer capture? How does this work for naming, etc?

Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone at Avid have any input... this is taken from the webpage:

"Supports Mojo DX and Nitris DX for full-quality HD video capture and playback"

How do you go about capturing this video when lync'd to a Pro Tools system?

Not sure if you can do that. Media Composer captures through their capture utility. Do not see a way to be in that mode and still in any link with Pro Tools.

It says in the manual that it can be done.... It doesnt however say how it works, how to label things, etc......

Looks like I will just have to test on my own as usual.... thanks for the reply at least.

Looks like it is using the capture tool. I have media composer and protools on my stage, I also have an HDCAM deck. I will try this and report back.

I am working on getting the test systems built myself, although I have read some things about Media Composer 7 only working with PT 11, so you have to use 6 if on 10. and I believe the release version has to be 6.xx to actually work with PT 10.

There is some information about this on Avids website...
