Default Eventide Anthology DSP Usage

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if anyone could comment on DSP usage of Eventide's Anthology on HD systems.

I'm just about to upgrade to HD (from Mix 24) but at this point I can only afford HD1 so DSP efficiency is a consideration.

For the moment I have to think of the bare minimum (due to finances), so I'd need a good reverb, compressor and EQ so Anthology II seems like a good option... unless anyone has a better suggestion.

Thanks!

Hi,

Anthology is great but doesn't do chip sharing! so will hog lots of chips!! Sony oxford does do chip sharing and will give you much better efficiency.

How about McDSP... Does it do chip sharing?

It's a set of hungry but great sounding plug-in’s.
1 verb, 1 octavox, 1 Factory= one chip each
1 Omnipressor mono = 17% accel chip. 25% on the core card.
I'd try a few demos before making your choice.
The new plug's are suppose to have better chip usage. (Haven't heard them)

Digidesign's bundled plugs should get you through with the addition of a 3rd party reverberator.

hd process cards are going on ebay now for around $600.....i just nabbed one for $601 including shipping......although accel's are seriously dropping in price now too

but yo, im in the exact same situation you are. I downloaded the eventide's and the sony's yesterday....the sony's are so great, yet sooooo expensive.....

i'd try to find out if you could still get your hands on an hd upgrade plus and grab yourself the pultec eq's and smack through that

im loving both of those plugs

For $995 though, i really don't think your going to be able to beat the eventide's

if you wanted something affordable just to get going, i'd also look at the mcdsp projectpack, which i think is either $400 or $500
the licenses included are only for RTAS but you get some banger plugins

wow...just saw on sweetwater the oxford 6 pack..$2495 for every tdm plug

also noticed the mcdsp emerald pack, they say $2795, but im sure that probably means $2495

That would be a tough one to pick between i think
