Default Pro Tools 12.3.1 Clip Transparency is pretty awesome

We've been asking for this one for a while now and here it is! I love that you can see the waveform when you grab and slide a clip around. Not just a yellow outline anymore. It's the little things...

+1

music editing is so much easier. Wouldn't it be funny if this feature, instead of 64-bit code, cloud functionality, and offline bounce was what got the PT10 users to upgrade?

This is one reason that music editing on Fairlight is/was so much easier than PT.

A great addition.

sorry but not that impressed - i wished it did like Digital performers - can see the shape of the waveform as you stretch em - thats pretty useful!

I am more interested in the 'bounce feature'

is that doing what I thought I saw?

ie I dont have to mess with routing to get my seperate stems out?

just hightlight and bounce? no need to scratch head! ( one wrong shift option control and you fecked it all up! )

Clip transparency is definitely nice for music editing. I'm also liking the fade presets and the fact that track names are now included in the MIDI output selector dropdown (particularly helpful when I have a session with multiple Kontakt instances)

Would be nice to see this pattern of usability improvements continue...

Sonic Solutions' "Sonic Studio" was doing this in the late 90s and I so missed it when moving to ProTools. Glad to see it finally made it here!

Nuendo had it for a long time, too. You can also see the waveform stretch when pulling a clip to time stretch.

It was something I very much missed from Nuendo. Very glad to see it in Pro Tools.
