Profire 2626 from M-Audio. You can later get a Black Lion Audio mod for it to make it even better (not advertised on their website, but referred to on their Facebook page...)

Hmm didn't know they modded that unit. Just checked their facebook page. Says they are comparing it to an Apogee Ensemble. And they're about the mod the Ensemble also. Think this is a one time, test the waters, type thing or that they'll actually mod anyones. I'd be interested in either really.

I'm a presonus guy and have been for a long time. You could step into a Presonus 2626 for 5-700.

Not familiar with the Motu unit but hear very good things. However FireWire is less CPU intensive and better at streaming audio than USB. However it's more a matter of what works best for you. I'd be more worried about the features of the interface; I/O, on board dsp, ect, than the type of connection. But one thing to point out is FireWire interfaces usually have less latency.

Reasons.
1. Cheaper (exact same Item)
2. Free Shipping (3-5 days anywhere in the US)
3. Free 2 year warrenty
4. Free tech support

Sweetwater is the best place to get pro audio gear.
I agree, my Sales Guy Dave is awesome and always helps you out when you have a question or need some tech support, etc...As a matter of fact, I am going to call him now since I am having the Saffire LE interface issue. He keeps calling me to make sure everything is working properly and he already has my money.

Great gear, quick service and they even put candy in your box sometimes.
