Overall, 2019.12 Ultimate/HDX seems a bit more responsive and stable at extremely low playback buffers than the already good 2019.10.
Great to hear that!

Yep! No errors whatsoever! VI’s are even much better. I’ve been running it for days. I will be parking here until Catalina is well on its way I may even stay a year behind again as I usually do. I didn’t update to Mojave until it was on its last update.

Thank you for pointing this out!!! I was hesitant to move up since I work in post, but since I am still on Mojave and these are not issues, I will definitely update.

Hi,

I had lot of problems with 2019.10 regarding video work.
I've tried a lot of things but Pro tools wasn't stable at all and the video goes to black too often. Reverting to 2019.5 solved the issues.

Is this new 2019.12 will change something about that bug that a lot of users saw in 2019.10 ??

not much video here but for audio 2019.12 feels really great - I mix and edit every day 8-10h and for me 2019.12 feels overall better than 2019.6 and .10 - I'm pretty sure I'm going to stay omn it for a while..!

I am noticing that Sonoma Wire Works Drumcore 4.3.4 seems to be using more resources than it did in Mojave, pinning the CPU activity monitor to 100%; have had to freeze the track to playback, regardless of buffer size. Arturia, McDSP, SoundToys all playing nicely in 2019.12 in Catalina.

Working great here. I'm actually able to play Diva at the 32 sample buffer, in a large template that has Abbey Road Plates on an aux...this is a first for me in PT (7980xe hacks).

Impressive CPU performance overall. I still wish PT had an option for a 2x or 4x buffer size for VI's and a 16 sample buffer with native. There's no reason VI's need to run at the same buffer as inputs, given that they inherently have half the buffer latency.

Also I can see the curser in the midi edit window now. Overall the contrast there looks better.

Really hoping this kicks off a bigger year for PT development.

In case anyone hasn't noticed OSX 10.13.6 is considered the earliest compatible OSX according to the chart whereas PT 2019.10 had a minimum of OSX 10.12.6. I wonder what will happen with PT2020.x? I'm just hoping Mojave becomes the minimum as I'll then need a new video card.

Time marches on.
