Replacement for Virus?
I've got a boatload of soft synths- NI Komplete, SampleTank, UVI whatever its called, etc. When I had the TDM system, I had the Access Virus Indigo plugin. It was the perfect blend of simple patches and tweak ability.
When TDM was abandoned, so was the plugin. And I miss it. Dearly. I get lost in front of clients trying to navigate the NI stuff for simple sounds. And Sampletank is ok... But I was looking at stuff like Omnisphere and Alchemy (Now in Logic I gather?). Is that Overkill? I mean, I need arps and drones and simple stuff. I do rock and pop and metal mostly. I do some rb production. Anyone still remember that plug? And what do you use now? b

Re: Replacement for Virus?
Check out Diva from U-He. It's a very good synth.

Re: Replacement for Virus?
I haven't used it, though have looked at it. I do know there are a bunch of 3rd party developed patch libraries out there for it as well.

Re: Replacement for Virus?
Yeah I would say from what Ive gathered, although I've not been a user of it - it is on my studio expansion list for this year.
It seems to be one of the most respected virtual analog synths. So I would imagine replacing a virus with Diva may be rather nice. AAS Ultra Analog is also a good one. Vacuum Pro is also really nice and sounds very warm and less digital than some others I've used. Xpand! is one to not sleep on as its decent out of the box - but has pretty easy ways to re layer sounds and create although less tweekable when it comes to filters and ADSR and modulation and what not like a traditional synth.

Re: Replacement for Virus?
There is no 64 bit version of Virus. That is why the OP asked the question as to what suggestions we all have for a replacement of Virus which is only 32 bit.

Re: Replacement for Virus?
indeed
I can't walk so good anymore, and lifting is out. Can't drag a synth around. I need a 64 bit plug. Will check the U-he. I wish I could mess with Omnisphere. Just not willing to drop 500 on a maybe right now.
