USB interface is pretty much advertising itself as a latency issue. Buy a TB interface instead.

Focusrite Red 16 would give you the choice between Thunderbolt 3 or Dante or HDX or Native.
They sound terrific and also give you hardware monitoring.

Thanks & yes, of course, but my hardware, a cheesegrater 5,1 12 core, does not have TB.

Think I'm leaning towards a 3rd party interface via USB2. Wouldn't be needing massive amounts of i/o's.
The only thing I'm still not sure of is the latency issue.
Some companies, like RME & Metric Halo, have direct monitoring where supposedly it will be no issue with that.
Seems like Dangerous, Crane Song, Prism, etc. can't guarantee RTL times.

I no longer record any more than a single guitar or bass track now, so I have a DIGI003 rack and Presonus Studio 1810c. I can run a buffer of 64 for low(enough) latency to record the odd guitar/bass or midi
