Re: Folder Feature Requests
I'm going to go one stage further and say the fader on a routing folder is all but useless, really, from a mixing point of view, because:
1. Nothing with in the folder can have sends going elsewhere (e.g. reverbs) without upsetting the relative balances within the folder; and 2. No outputs in the folder can be sent anywhere else without upsetting the balance ..so you can't really use the routing fader for levels if either or both of these are true (which in the case of something like a drum folder is almost certain to be). My current experiment is trying out "basic" folders with a VCA within it. |

Yes I’d love to have a mute button that muted everything in the folder, irrespective of routing. I’d also like to have the option to mute all sends as well so it’s truly muting everything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: Folder Feature Requests
Okay here's a workaround for a VCA folder, it's kind of obvious really:
1. Select tracks to move to routing folder, and "move" to routing folder without selecting "route tracks to new folder" 2. Set folder track to no input/no output (not sure if this step is needed really, still messing with it) 3. Create new group with tracks in folder and plus folder fader Et viola! A fader folder that works as a VCA for the tracks within the folder, but without having to actually create a separate VCA fader, with the bonus that the solo and mute work as expected and the folder can completely collapse down. Re: Folder Feature Requests
Yes good point, plus it also means you have to keep the groups turned on, whereas I normally make sure they're all off.

Re: Folder Feature Requests
This is a more edit based request. Specifically to do with "conforming" in post production
1 Currently if you have some tracks grouped and with the grabber you move some audio on the top track say five frames later, all the tracks below will also move five frames later. Except closed folder tracks. 2 It would be good if all the selected audio moved even though the folder is closed. You can use "cut and paste" to get the desired behaviour so I'm not sure why moving with the grabber doesn't behave the same way

Also, they really really need to make the grabber tool work with the "blocks" shown on closed folder tracks.

Re: Folder Feature Requests
It works as desired with open folders. But obviously it saves no screen real estate doing this.
Doing post, I have a bunch of tracks I want to be closed 99% of the time. Having to open all folders every time we conform is a pain. And being able to witness how well it works with cut and paste only makes this failing more galling.
