Default Re: How's 12.4 running for you?

Is anyone getting weird window scrolling behaviour?
Every time I drag and drop audio into PT, my edit window view will scroll back to the top most track regardless of what track i just dropped to.
It also does this when I Command-Tab in and out of PT.
Its pretty annoying.

12.4 is buggy as hell on my setup. 12.3 on the other hand, no issues. I'm having weird PT freezes, odd error messages, and the loud explosion problem, but nothing consistent and reproducible. I've been using PT since 9, and all of the releases so far have been without problems for me (other than the occasional need to trash preferences).

However, track freeze is so invaluable to me, that I'm going to stick it out until either 12.5 or some 12.4.x comes out that is hopefully more stable. As long as I save often, I can manage.

I'm talking with support, here's hoping they can fix this issue cos H.264 is working fine otherwise.
Just for anyone else experiencing this - support confirmed the issue. It affects H.264 video files - its been present since PT11, but is more annoying with 12.4 than other releases. They say they're going to work on a fix, here's hoping.

So far no other issues, in fact some other things seem to have finally cleared up. I had some graphics issues when dragging and vertically scrolling, they've gone in 12.4. Everything else great and in some cases considerably better, so I'm living with the video issue for now. If it gets intolerable, I'll convert to another codec.

...and it was all going so well....

Had to revert to 10 on a project today. Somewhere the project became corrupt and it couldn't import any new files, which is a long standing occasional bug linked to "copy files on import", though I hadn't tweaked that this time. Even importing all tracks into a new blank project carries the bug, while a simple blank project works normally, so that would seem to rule out trashing preferences. No time now to fault find any more, but it's back to the lifeboat that is PT10 (and may that license NEVER expire...)

I've been running 12.4 (HDN) for a couple weeks now on my Windows 8.1 machine. Occasional crashes and freezes, but no more than normal, and overall decent performance. I think someone mentioned a glitch when an extremely short selection is made. I'm seeing that. Released by starting playback from the beginning.

But today I got the dreaded noise bursts for the first time. I was mastering using phones. Very nasty. Even with a PT restart it kept coming back until after a reboot. Definitely a major bug that must be eradicated before someone's ears get toasted.

That's not normal at all for a great many of us. You should contact support. They can run tests and troubleshoot your problem.
