Eric, seems like you're right on the money.
I bought this from a person who is reputable, and many probably heard of his name. I wont mention who he is here as I assume he will fix things and make it right. There was a FRAGILE sticker conveniently placed on the section of the box which prints, "CROSSGRADE". I was wondering why there is a FRAGILE sticker on that spot of the box. So this means that it can't get a free upgrade to HD9? Does it also mean that this HD1 card is registered to someone else? I don't like getting ripped off, especially when I trust someone for a number of years. |

For all the people having this problem, did you get a yellow registration card or a white registration card?
In the past, all my HD packs had a yellow sticker with a REG ID which lets you register. This one only had a white card, REG ID rectangle was blank. Anyone know the difference with a yellow reg card that has an ID and a white reg card with no ID? |

Everyone else who has this issue, Avid called me and helped me with the registration. It was just a fluke apparently, but they helped register it over the phone.
I also got the HD 9 upgrade email. Thanks again for everyone's assistance. |

Had this happen very recently with a client's HD2 purchase - there was no registration cards in the boxes, ended up having to call Avid and sit on hold for 45 minutes before I was able to talk to someone, who then sent me an email which I had to reply to with scans of purchase receipts to prove we made the purchase.
It was a bit of a hoop jumping nightmare, but eventually it all got sorted. Seems to be getting more common that Avid is shipping out products w/o registration cards though, so beware! |
