Default Audio Units and PT 6.4.1?

I am wondering about AU compatability with PT 6.4.1; e.g. can I use the newest Lexicon MX500 reverb as hardware-plugin with the Audio Units technology? Or this has to do only with my computers' capabilities/settings?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
