I have now built a second machine and can post the following:

Cro 230 Dverbs On a Q6600 - ASUS P5Q SE, 4GB Kingston DDR2 800MHz, EVGA nVidia GeForce 7200GS 256MB PCI-E Video card, Seagate 80GB SATA2 7200RPM, Seagate 320GB SATA2 7200 RPM, LG Lightscribe SCSI DVD burner, Mbox2 PTLE 7.3.1

So the new build, despite having double the memory, runs slightly shorter on the Dverb test.

Theories anyone?

Thanks,
Cro
It's not quite double, you basically went from 2GB to 3.25GB and the P45 Chipset is doing a few things more than the P35 Chipset for a slight performance hit for those not trying to get a Crossfire capable chipset at a budget price. I'm not exactly sure how the Dverb test which is more of a processor "benchmark", could be impacted by a change in RAM. I suspect its the chipset change.

Hi Guys, Been a while I have been doing a lot of recording over the last few months and I am still having issues with space bar play/pause...WTF...I am running PT 74.cs4....Just curious if there has been any PT updates that have resolved this. What seems to be the most stable 7.4 version? By the way the the tech support utility dosent work for me it says that I dont have a valid installation of protools installed...BS WTF. The only fix I have have is to close protools go to my computer and delete digidesign database folder on all my drives and restart computer....This is a major pain in the arse.....any help here would be much appreciated.

thanks, Tracy

Hi, Try this. I havent tried it cause I havent had Play/Pause for a while.

The tech support utility should be loacted in the PT install folder in order to work. Deleting databases in not enough - you need to delete preferances too.

I'm using 7.4 cs9 and it stable.

Exclamation Need help

I just got a new computer with a p35 intell MB, FSB 1066, 2GB DDR2 800, Q6600 Dual core. I was only able to get 70 DVerbs with the DVerb test. I see much higher results from similar systems, can anyone tell me why that might be? Thanks Martin

XP Pro set at 1024 I followed the DVerb test using the tone from the signal generator exactly as written.

If anyone can think of a reason for his I would greatly appreciate it. This is a computer built specificall for DAW's. It bench tests using sandra as it should with the 6600 core 2 duo benchmark. I need to make a decision very soon, PLEASE HELP !

By any chance does anyone know if the P45 chipset works fine like the P35, because I'm looking to buy the Asus P5Q Se Plus MOBO along with the NEW Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 @ 2.66ghz FSB 1333. Thanks!!!
