Spotlight Indexing.....HELP!
Hey everyone, I want to disable spotlight indexing. I'm running an Intel 2 core duo 17" macbook pro. 3 gigs of ram. Pro Tools le 7.3.1
I printed out all of the troubleshooting /optimization tips from the forum, but here's my problem...I am new to the world of Macs. I can get to the Terminal, but I when I type in the code to disable the spotlight indexing, nothing happens. Is there anything obvious or assumed that I am missing? Basically when I type the code in and press return, the "Editor" doesnt open with the entry: Spotlight Yes Replace No. Secondly, Im running about 36 processes right now. Is this number too high? Is there anyway to lower this number for a more optimal pro tools/cpu operation? THank You |

Re: Spotlight Indexing.....HELP!
With a new computer you don't need to disable spotlight indexing, that's more of a tip to help those with older slower machines.
