Default Adding space between MIDI notes

Hi there,

Hope all is well.

Is there a way to add equal space between several MIDI notes?

Let's say I have 10 MIDI notes, all on grid, with 1 measure in between each at the moment. If I wanted to increase the space from 1 to 3 measures, is there a way to do so that is not one by one?

Thank you.

Jane

A workaround is to highlight all the notes you'd like to have space by hitting Shift+clicking the notes, extend all notes (to the right) with the standard trim tool, then split the notes (cmd+E on mac) where you'd like to have space in and trim the other way. Hope it makes sense
Let me know if you have questions

Too bad "Space Clips" doesn't work on MIDI Notes.

I have done this using the Trimmer TCE Tool. For example, consolidate your notes into one clip in the edit window. Then go to the clip and stretch it exactly the amount you want them to be spaced by. This does also lengthen out the notes, so if they need to stay the same length, just highlight them all then trim the ends of them.

Agreed.

However, you can still kind of use it this way too.

In your example, in the edit window, highlight the clip and then change your grid settings to Measures. Then go Edit-Separate Clip-On Grid. Then use Space Clips (Option-Shift-H Mac). Then type in the additional spacing (I believe it would be 2 measures in your case) and hit enter.

Hi everyone,

Thank you very much for all the ideas!

I've used the space clips function after cutting a clip for each MIDI note in the edit window, with the clip being the same size as the clip, and that way was able to easily use the tool.

Once more, thank you!

Jane
