I have, based on the fact that 10.14.5 seems to primarily be a security update for an issue with Intel chipsets. I did a whole bunch of CPU intensive editing work last night and so far nothing seems broken. My fingers are crossed, (after having already done a back up before updating).

i have updated to 10.14.5 and all is good..no worries..seems stable
However i get some cpu spike all of a sudden which didn't experience with 10.12.6 and Pro Tools 2018.12

I've downloaded it but haven't installed just seeing if there are any issues as 10.14.4 with 2019.5 is running sweet here.

I also note it make reference to "Improves audio latency on MacBook Pro models introduced in 2018"

Apple updated Mojave to 10.14.5 on the very day that I was going to update ProTools, so I did it anyway, after backing up my previous system. All seems well, currently mixing a 60-odd track live mix, using a mixture of DSP, Native and UAD plugins, with QuickTime movie running as well, and it is all running very smoothly.

Default Re: Mojave 10.14.5

I plan to upgrade my 2010 fully loaded Mac Pro Cheese-grater tonight once I replace the stock Radeon 5770 graphics card which does not work with Mojave to a new Sapphire RX 580 graphics card + dual 6 to 8pin adapter cable purchased new on Amazon for about $230. I have upgraded to High Sierra 10.13.6 and to Pro Tools Ultimate 2019.5 with success, now just want to boost it to Mojave to see if performance improves albeit probably very little. With this card I'll be sacrificing the boot screen but I will be gaining a card that is 12.5x more powerful, not that that means much as I don't really do video rendering on my mac, but nice to know I could if I want to.

Wish me luck with my Mojave upgrade process and I'll report back here when done.

BTW - I can also report good news with Pro Tools 2019.5 vs 2018.x - noticeable improvement in plugin efficiency with acceptable latency when tracking through plugins with buffer set to 128 and somewhat at 64 also.

I had one plugin I don't really use that I know caused Pro Tools to crash - GK Amplification 2 Pro and that crashing issue doesn't happen any more - previously you'd instantiate the plugin, open it once, close it, and re-opening fully crashed Pro Tools. Under 2019.5 this no longer happens. Nice!

I tested with plugins I know are huge CPU hogs like Waves Abbey Road Chamber and Plate reverbs - yeah they're still CPU hogs so don't expect much there. But I did "feel" improvements with VI's such as Superior Drummer 3 and even Waves Grand Piano with it's huge HD sample which even seemed to load a bit faster.

I also appreciate that you can do things like open the buffer settings while a track is playing, instantiate plugins while a track is playing etc. Nice!

So now, let's see if Avid makes good on new features in the next release.
