Re: Electric bass record.
Hi,
Best? I Don't know. I go into a Pod Pro, and from there I use s/pdif to get into PTLE. Cheers, Mark <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>Originally posted by sower: Which the best way to record electric bass with DIGI001? Re: Electric bass record.
you could use the pod or something similar but my favourite bass method is to get a good sound from the guitar and amp and mic it with a large diaphragm condenser (usually a U89) then just a touch of compression (my favoured units being an LA2A or Distressor) and it always comes up rockin'. i've had ok results from other mics so just use your ears and go with whatever sounds best to you i don't think i've ever used the di track in a mix...

Re: Electric bass record.
I was using POD but now I use the Tech21 bassdriver. It makes it sound really big in the mix. It's a DI with some amp emulation (sort of), but it really sounds good at half the price of a POD. Check it out at http://www.tech21nyc.com/. You go straight into one of the inputs.

Re: Electric bass record.
i have used a really cheap di-box to record a bass-guitar to tape, so i think it would do the trick to with the digi001. Just plug it in directly. Then later on you can add some eq to get the sound right.

Re: Electric bass record.
Tube DI and a compressor. Though it all starts with a good bass with new strings and a capable player...

Re: Electric bass record.
Get the Pod. You can get a totaly pro sound with it, it's cheap, easy to use, and the support for it is great.
