Ha what a great point. I can just imageing telling your band mates you cant practice today because you need to read the instruction manual for your guitar If you have been in bands like the ones I've been in, there would be unyielding teasing and hazing for saying something like that

Me "Sorry guys i have to read the manual for my guitar tonight"

Bandmate 1 "What the ##$$, You put your $##$ing SH%$^ Fingers on the Moth$^^%& Fretboard, you stupid 55432423453 son of a B23#$^#"

It is a crazy concept though. Whats next, a guitar with a built in Eleven Rack and 250GB SSD to record to. Two integrated Studio quality speakers, and a 11" touch screen on the back to Mix what you record.

Why stop there, might as well make it so the guitar can be programed with MIDI to play itself!

Image a guitar that can be programed to "play" the rhythm part by itself, leaving you free to play the melody or solo, all coming from one guitar cable directly into the PA system, Hell why not make it be able to play the bass and drums while you are at it.

Yeah, makes you wonder how far they'll try take it. Reminds me of the acoustic guitar hero South Park episode...perhaps that's not too far off what might happen in the future with these types of guitars...
