Pro Tools unexpectedly quits

Howdy!

I'm new here.

I recently acquired an MBox Factory, and am running it on an iMac 400 DV+ with OS 10.2.8. (ProTools LE 6.1.2) Everything was going fine until today when starting up ProTools results in it crashing, and the OS telling me that "The application Pro Tools has unexpectedly quit."

Restarting a number of times, replugging the MBox, replugging the iLok does not help.

I did not update anything, I did not uninstall anything since the last time PT worked.

I'm bitter.

Very bitter.

EDIT:

So far, I've tried all of the following:

* Erasing all the Prefs
* Various combinations of restarting the computer
* Repairing HD Prefs
* Erasing all the databases

...

Ok, I've tried a number of different things. Nothing works.

Why did this happen all of a sudden?

Everything was working fine, and, at a crucial moment in my project... boom. This is upsetting.
