Also add that I had the same results with 10.9 prior to upgrading to the current OS

Processor: 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
OS Version: OSX 10.9.1
Pro Tools Version: 8.0.5
Interface: MBox 2 Mini
Driver Version: I've lost track at this point, I've tried every "updated" driver I could find on this forum trying to solve my problem...

Computer model :iMac
processor : 3.06 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
Ram : 4 Gb
OS version : OSX 10.9.1 (mavericks)
M-Audio hardware model : Mbox mini 3rd gen
DAW : Garageband, Logic Pro

Device connected : Only the Mbox Mini 3rd Gen to the iMac, the Mbox mini it self is connected to a pair of speakers using audio cable.

Issue : Installed latest driver 1.2 from here
No sound coming out at all, even through headphones, but it can receive recordings with no issue. The "No sound" is in general, meaning that I cannot play mp3 from any software, I cannot play any sound from youtube, I cannot play any sound anywhere with whatever software, it is not a DAW issue.

Thx

Weird thing is, I get audio just fine using my Apogee interface. So this is only related to avid hardware.

Well, my Mbox 3 has been working just fine after installing Mavericks 10.9.1. No problems for me. I installed the latest driver before updating to Mavericks.
However i had to do some changes in "prefereces" in Pro Tools, Mainstage and Mavericks itself to get the driver to work.

Thanks for letting us know.

Your sig shows you are using a Late 2012 i7, but this issue seems to be limited to Core 2 Duos from 2009-2010. (The 2007-2008 Core 2 Duos work fine.)

There have been other reports of issues with Mavericks and the latest driver, is rolling back to 10.8 a possibility for you?

I'll add your thread to the list, I have asked for an update or eta, but all I have at this time is that it is being investigated.

Joel
JoelG,

First post in the APAC ever, so please excuse me if I'm not replying in the correct area - navigating the AVID web site and these forums takes more than a bit of getting used to.

I was happily running PT 9.0.6 on a 2006 iMac 24-inch with ML until a heat sink problem scrambled the video card. The only option I have is to switch to my mid 2009 MacBook Pro, 8GB, 240GB SSD running Mavericks 10.9.2.

I know, I know... it's not compatible... but here's the thing.

PT 9.0.6 actually does run and record. It's hearing the playback that's the problem. The audio's there, I can export it to a friends system and hear and edit it there, but can't hear it on my system.

I've spent two entire days on phone support with Apple and my PT reseller and we've narrowed the issue to the Mbox 2 Mini driver 10.3.3 - it doesn't work in Mavericks 10.9.2.

Therefore upgrading to PT 11 probably won't help because it uses the same driver.

What I need to know is... is there an updated driver for 10.9.2 on the way? If so, ETA?

If not, can you suggest a solution that's not going to break the bank?

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Hi Joel,

It's now been over two and half months since you asked for an update or ETA on fixing the Mbox with Mavericks driver issue. Can you confirm that all this time later we're all still waiting for an update or even an ETA?

Thanks,

Mark
