Re-reading that quote does make me a little suspicious as to its bonefides. Grammatically it's absolutely appalling!

I hope the Avid tech support person isn't a native English speaker, which would explain it.

Otherwise the 'quote' may be fake. Let's hope not!

Right so I got my email upgrade in the past 10 minutes. Registration was easy and simple and now I have transferred my license to my iLok.

Here's the quote from the email
"Thank you for your support of Avid and its products. We're pleased to let you know that you are eligible to receive Avid's new Pro Tools 11 software upgrade for Students from Pro Tools 10 or Pro Tools 9 for Students at no charge as part of a four year upgrade offer in place at the time of your purchase."

I received my license last night. Its on my iLok and I am rolling with PT 10 and 11. Now I just need my plugins to be updated to AAX 64-bit!

Just got mine also. I have been using the demo in the interim. I have CPTK though. I also have a full PT9 license. I'm wrestling with paying either $599 to upgrade my student license to PTHD11 and lose the rest of my free upgrades or paying $1000 to upgrade my PT9 license. CPTK has got me used to certain work flows like VCA mixing, disk cache, and snapshot automation. Perhaps Avid will offer a per-feature paid option instead of having to buy the whole thing. $999 is a bit steep for me right now.

I have upgraded to PT11 via the email steps, but now when I click to open it, I am shown an error.



Am I completely on an island, or can someone help me?

Has anyone else had this issue?

I can't even get far enough to complete the iLok licensing, therefore it cannot be my iLok.

I believe you need to complete iLok licensing before you attempt to run PT11.
