I'm pretty sure you're eligable, the "includes 4 years upgrades" is what makes those who bought the full version eligable.
Like someone has said, an update is an update of your current version (PT9), and upgrade is a whole new release (PT)

just keep checking your inbox

I'm in a frustrating position right now...

Ordered a Pro Tools 9 student crossgrade from LE on the 15th Oct and received it yesterday but not yet registered it. Upon ordering I had no idea PT10 was about to be released!

Can't seem to find an email address to contact Avid and all the official information seems to relate to non-students.

I do remember reading somewhere a while ago that ALL students receive a free 4 year upgrade path. My main concern is if this will apply to me as PT 10 is already out and I've not yet registered or even installed the PT9 crossgrade.

Would appreciate any further information.

I just got my email with activation code today. I purchased my first copy of Pro Tools ever (PT 9 native, student edition) on August 25th of this year.

Thank you Avid! :)

Studica appear to have removed all 'student' crossgrades from their site and now there's only 'commercial' full-price ones. Looks like 9 was a good time to get a student crossgrade. I've got friends on LE I've basically said might wanna look into a student crossgrade from another site if they're still there since the £90 to go from LE and get a free upgrade to 10 is a damn sight cheaper providing Avid honour the 4-year agreement.

Still waiting for my email mind..

I may be breaching some kind of rule here, but software4students still has PT9 available at student pricing. . . as a little easter egg: as far as I remember the proof you have to provide is quite laxed'. Still waiting for someone who has a cross grade to have the free update e-mail though

Is there any way we can contact someone at Avid about this to confirm crossgrades eligibility?

It could be that they're just sending out full version emails first. If they don't though I'll be canny pissed off - only reason I bought PTLE then crossgraded was it was actually £50 more but I got an Mbox Mini into the deal for messing about on the go with.

It seems to be extremely difficult to contact avid. I attempted to email them about my student upgrade yesterday morning and I have never heard back from them. You could try to contact the Avid store and see if they can point you in the right direction.
