There is a lot of software and hardware product improvements/product changes and bundles that Avid could announce that don't involve new DSP hardware.

I'd be blown away if it wasn't mainly based on control surfaces.

They have been getting a lot of attention over at divisions of Avid

New control surfaces are just what I want to see.

Something priced like a C24, but applying Eucon protocol.

But not simply a C24 warmed over.... That's simply a price point.

It's time for a big reach.

Something kind of like a C24, no preamps, but less plasticy/toylike than the Artist series. Would be nice. As would a 004, including a rack and console version although I worry with the Artist series we won't see another prosumer interface+surface combo. Not sure this is the best event to launch 004 class products?

Please let there be an Omni with a direct Thunderbolt connection, no card required. New kind of Native HD!

Ah so the d-command, the d-control, the 11-rack, the hd 1/o, the hd omni, were not serious products?

It seems like most people want Pro Tools 10. That doesn't really float my boat. Does an even deeper app make for a better one? I am more interested in hardware. I know Avid was part of the original Thunderbolt team when Apple and Intel previewed the standard. There's got to be something going on behind the curtain. It seems to be a question of when...

I reckon Avid have bought Universal Audio and all the manufacturers TDM plugins have been ported to the UAD cards (oh and there will be a Thunderbolt UAD)

(please please please)

I think this is exactly what will be unveiled. Perhaps thunderbolt for HD as well.
