On top of the site being absolutely horrible in its design, I have noticed tons of the links are broken.

Let's play a game, shall we? Go to: "Pro Tools - General Troubleshooting for Mac HD and LE" that is a sticky at the top of each forum here at the DUC. Now see if you can guess which links are active on that page. You may be surprised.

Give yourself 1 point for every page that is actually linked and -1 point for every time you see the "Looking for Digidesign?" page. Anyone want to play? You get 6 clicks. Then post your score.

Taking the first 6 clicks I ended up with -4 for my score. Actually most of the links go to the generic 'Looking for Digidesign' page; the biggest bunch that do go to where they are supposed to go are in DTS's sig file. Pretty poor performance.

LOL. I realize that my sentence could be taken 2 ways.

I said: "On top of the site being absolutely horrible in its design, I have noticed tons of the links are broken."

I meant: Along with the site being absolutely horrible in its design, I have noticed tons of the links are broken.

In addition about broken links... Pro Tools 9.0.3 (and probably 0.5 as well) still has a broken link in Help menu.. click Additional Software Options and you'll see how the program will try to connect to digidesign.com and ends up at Looking for Digidesign? page. Funny but sad at the same time :/

You do realize that the post you linked us to was written in 2009, and there's been changes to the Avid main site? SO logically, it's not the avid main site that is wrong, it's the post that is wrong for not having been updated with the proper new page location.

Rather than posting here, if you find broken links it's best to send a message either to me directly (vi [at] digidesign [dot] com) or 'report' the thread that has broken links and indicate which ones are broken.

I'll get these corrected - I'm not sure what happened as all links should have migrated when we did the transition but obviously a problem occurred in that process.

I'm surprised no one has brought this up before now, considering how long those threads would have been like that. I guess it speaks to how often anyone actually uses them...

I see the problem - that thread was supposed to have been consolidated/merged/linked with the one in the LE forum, but wasn't. It probably got overlooked.

I've fixed it and linked it back to the correct thread.

Would also like to point out that simply clicking on the Exclamation Point at the upper right hand side of the post and using the "Report Post" function along with a description of the problem seems to work wonders as far as getting broken links fixed, threads moved or deleted etc.

Also there were some broken links in the corresponding Windows section FWIW.
