Default ProTools LE/Waves question

Can anyone help?

When using the Time Compression/Expansion tool with Waves Time Shifter, I keep getting the following error when processing mono audio tracks:

"This plug-in only processes 2 channls at a time. The current selection is not a multiple of that amount"

But Waves Time Shifter does exist as a mono plug-in, so how can I get Tools to use the mono plug-in rather than the stereo one? Only one option for Waves Time shifter comes up in the preferences pane, and does not specify whether it is using mono or stereo.

Any help appreciated. At the moment I am using a 'dummy' track underneath the mono one and grouping them together, which is a workaround, but not particularly elegant.
