Default Re: Massey Tape Head and other plug ins

Ive got all of the Massey stuff but the EQ and I should buy that. I am eagerly waiting for his tape delay.

The very first plugs I bought were Masseys, No monster bundles to buy.

The sound quality is excellent, they are easy and intuitive to use and they are all VERY musical.

A great guy.

Great plugs.

Great buisness model.

Great prices.

Great demos.

Whats not to like?

Of course the bypass works in the full versions, and the sessions will store the plugin settings too.
Also note that the demos are still on the earliest 1.0 version level, all later enhancements have been made to the full versions only. See details under 'additional features' in the plugin descriptions on his website.
Those plugins are no-brainers for the price, so what are you still waiting for if you like their sound?

All the Massey plugs are usefull and great.
I wouldn't consider Tape Head plug (despite the name) an analog tape emulation, it is more a saturation/harmonics plug. Works great on individual tracks to add a warm grit and saturation (really cool on vocals, bass).
I don't consider it for mix buss (analog channel is the guy for that), you can really hear the effect and color a lot with Tape Head.
CT4 compressor is damn good for everything.
I also demoed the digidesign reel tape saturation plugin. Too harsh on top end for my taste, top end doesn't get smooth the same way analog channel does.

Can the full version of Tape Head be used on a stereo track? I thought it might be nice to put on a Drum master track. Warm/Grit the whole set up.

Yeah a lot wider to use multi-mono with all these distortions/sats.

Has anyone calculated the rate at which most tape machines compress the signal?
