BTW, to make it seem even less likely to work(but it does), my keyboard/trackpad are PS2 outputs with dual-PS2 jacks down to USB before it goes down the 50' extension(but I run a PC).

I just started researching this topic today, landed on this thread. I'm wanting to be able to run PT (just for starting/stopping recording) from about 10 feet away from my computer while I'm recording myself doing videos. Is this extended USB cable and keyboard with trackpad As Dave describes how i can do this?

Why not just use the PT Control app on your phone?

If you really do not trust wireless, the longest (non-apple) lightning cable I have found is 2.5 meters (little over 8 feet) which essentially makes the apple wireless keyboard a wired one. I have heard of +10 feet cables too but am not sure if those are apple certified.

If you have an iPad or iPhone not sure if it has an Android ver, have you thought about setting up Avid Control app? Been a a while since I used but from memory it does that and more….
