Default Audio Driver problem

i have had my Protools Mbox pro for about 3 years now, i have since installed it on 2 computers,

The problem i has happens with both computers, as soon as a start up the computer, (1st time of the day) and run protools, I get NO AUDIO at all. i even tested media files, checked my audio properties and nothing. Now if i was to record it will record the audio but i get nothing on play back, niether from protools or from the computer itself.

The only way i can get this to work is each time i run pro tools, i close it down, run the cs update (whatever one) restart the computer and start over. can anyone explain this to me?

im using a pc with Windows xp. on both computers.

I had the same problem upon startup windows would steal the driver. The Mbox as the default playback for windows. In the control panel sound and audio devices/sound playback choose anything but the MBox. Another workaround is before starting PT go programs/digidesign/Divers and run the driver again each time you are about to run PT. The good new is all this was corrected in PT 8.0.3 you should update. Now I have PT as my default playback for windows and I am not experiencing these issues anymore after updating to 8.0.3.

Hmmmm, I have the same problem If I use another DAW like Reaper and then try to switch back to PT. I loose the drivers. So I can reload the drivers?

Yes you can do so; programs/digidesign/Divers and run the driver before starting PT what a pain I ended creating a driver shortcut on desktop to speed the process.
