Default Mbox 2 with Macbook Pro 15" i7 not working

Hello,

I've recently installed Pro Tools LE 8 on my 15-inch: 2.66GHz macbook pro which is running on OS X 10.6.3. Also, after several frustrating minutes, I found what I believed to be the correct updates (8.0.3 Update for Mac OS X and Pro Tools LE 8.0.3cs2 Update for Mac). Also, I read some forums that suggested I plug in the Mbox 2's usb cable into the USB slot closest to me on my macbook.

After I attempted to open Pro Tools from the dock, the loading screen came up, loaded all of the plugins, and then when the Open Session window should have appeared, it just froze without any window even open. I checked in the Force Quit Applications window on my macbook, and surely enough, Pro Tools Le was Not Responding. I've tried again and again several times, but the same thing keeps on happening.

Is there anybody who may possibly know what's causing this to happen, and what I can do to fix this problem?

Thanks.
