Default Re: Masterlist playback error

Now that the mastering part of my studio business has come to a halt a search of this board has turned up a number of threads of users having the exact problem I am including this one which ended a month ago with no Digi responce to the specific problem of ML crashing without PT running. I have trashed the digi setup and every other idea I've seen here or could think of but no luck.
Has anyone at Digi had a chance to look into this.

I was thinking of purchasing MLCD and now I'm
scared.Next in line is Waveburner. If digidesign can prove to me (and to you guys)
that MLCD is rock-solid(as far as software goes)I'll definitely buy it.
I'm runing digi001 on a G4 400 sawtooth
and it hasn't failed me.Come on digi!I want
to master hit records, not troubleshoot and
look foolish in front of clients!!
I'll shut up now.

Well, boys and girls, I got an answer from Digi's support web page, suggesting the following things:
-Trash both the MLCD prefs and the DigiSetup file, empty trash and restart.
-In the Appearance control panel, disable "Smooth all fonts", set large font to Charcoal and the other two to Geneva
-Pare down extensions by making a duplicate of "OS8.x base" and adding in DigiSystem INIT, Digidesign DSP Manager, and the OMS Extension, then restart.
-Reset the minimum memory size (in the get info box) to the factory default by entering 0.
At least I now feel like I've tried something. Unfortunately, it didn't help one whit. In fact, now sometimes my playback seizures crash the whole computer. Why don't you other folks try it and see?

I'm considering making two extension sets, one with the new DigiInit and one with the old (for MLCD). That's the only thing I can think of!!

Be afraid, be very afraid.
