There's 2 'layers' on each encoder, accessible through the select (SEL) switch under the encoder. The select switch will toggle between the layers, giving dual functionality possibilities to both the encoder itself and the b-m-p switch.

Chris

This mapping seems to be broken in PT10, I can't import my old maps and I can't "learn" the channel's encoders to behave differently...
This together with the disappearing maps in CF Plug-in view is functionality that seems to be forgotten. Or am I missing something? (I did trash the preferences since installing PT10).

Greetings,

Thierry

It's frustrating - hopefully we get some bug fixes in the next release...

Hi Chris,

is that a D-Control only function? I don't see any EDIT button other than the one that shows the edit window. Thanks for all this info!!

This one is by Gil Gowing : Easy way to quickly create a custom fader group through selecting the tracks you want in the CF group :

-------
You can do this. Select the tracks you want, select the custom group you want to populate, double press the edit button to name the group and return. The selected channels will populate the custom group.

I agree! 13 years later and I'm still learning from this thread.

The Ctrl-Cmd-touch a fader to bring up the automation lane in the edit window has changed my mixing life this evening. Thank you so much for the incredible time-saver Chris L!

That works too with the new controllers/old (Artist Mix, Control, S3, S6, Dock)

So 10 years later... :) Are these boards still working properly and compatible with the latest Pro Tools updates? I'm interested in getting plugin mapping for mixing with my hands instead of the computer mouse. But these boards are old and AVID not supporting them anymore. So I was just wondering if you are still happy with the D-command/C24, or have you all moved on to newer controllers? Thanks a lot! :)
