Default PPC G Drive - DAE Errors 9060 9031 9060 on playback

Hi guys,

Computer - Dual 2 GHz PowerPC running OS X version 10.5.8
Pro Tools 8.0.3
G- Drive

Hi guys,

I've been having trouble with G Drives on this PowerPC computer. Everytime I try to playback on here (recording was done on a Mac Pro) I immediately get DAE 9060; DAE 9031; DAE 9060. I read some threads that pointed to partitioning the drive with Apple Partition Map rather than GUID, but it makes no difference. Anyone run into this and can point me to a fix?

Yes it worked with no problem.. I've had 3 different G- drives through here in the last couple of months.. all work fine on the Mac Pro but not on the PPC

Okay so I transferred files to a Lacie drive and upon playback the same error messages popped up.

I trashed prefs, databases, volumes folders.

The session was pretty big so I transferred half the audio onto an internal drive..

STILL getting these 9060, 9031, 9060 errors upon trying to playback.

Sessions run fine on other external drives. Sessions run fine on internal drives.

I'm new with Pro Tools SE also with a new Toshiba Laptop running Windows 7with plenty of power. After getting constant DAE errors when I tried laying down some tracks I finally ran a program compatibility check with my computer and it took the setup somehow back to a Windows XP setup and now everything works fine, no more DAE errors.

I'm not sure why it didn't like Windows 7 and I'm trying to find out if I need a patch of some kind or if I need to install and run the Service Pack one upgrade?

In the meantime everything is working

hi

these dae errors may come from

illegal caractere in the audio file
corrupted audio file
apple journalization on
HDD too fragmented
wrong formating option between apple partition and GUID

try to 'save copy as' on an HD you know works on the PPC and maybe change the file name so its shorter and has no illegal characters

only underscore as "strange" caracters allowed or - on all drives and especially audio files
but no +
check also if you have other connected drives that would be GUID.
Disable journalization and spotlight indexing on all drives
Might be a fragmented HHD so, do a complete defrag
trash all digidesign database
hope this will help
