Default PT 10 and HP9 with Projectmix I/O

Hello, Sorry i meant MP9 nor HP9!
I am currently running PT 9MP with Projectmix I/O
I am about to upgrade to PT 10 or maybe 11 or 12, i would like to keep my PT 9MP as i have a lot of projects that i often re-visit and work on, is it possible to run both MP9 and the new upgrade on the same Macbook pro OS X 10.6.8, or is there a way of opening MP9 projects in PT 10, 11, or 12, or do i have to uninstall MP9 altogether and forget about all my past unfinished projects? Ideally it would be great to shut down one and open up the other depending on what i want to work on!
Any help on this issue would be much appreciated, Thanks!

Most pro tools 9 files can run with higher version. The only problem is higher version pro tools files can't run on older version. And I also recommend you to upgrade to 12 if your not in a budget. Pro tools 10 only support O S X 10.7-10.9.

Thank you Justin, i'll look into PT10hd and PT12, the thing is i've been recording poets and spoken word on MP9, every now and again one of my clients will want to come over to change or tweek something, so i'd like to be able to access the projects in MP9 for that reason and not have to uninstall MP9 altogether, but i want to upgrade to get things like Clip Adjust etc to work on my songs and music and i'd also like to edit without being hooked up to the projectmix like i have to do to open MP9.
Thanks again!

Yeah and also u can save as waves files and import in to any software u want. You can edit. U can do whatever you want but it take time. That's how all of my clients send me they music and vocal to mix.

And plus by doing that is really safe. Somehow if you lose your pro tools file you can just import them into pro tools

Hi, i've been told that PT 9MP is different to PT 9 for instance MP9 can only be opened when hooked up to projectmix or other MP interface, you can not open MP PT and edit in other rooms, you have to be anchored to the hardware!
Thanks!

Thanks, i never knew you could do that, i guess it's best to save waves tracks dry and remove all plug-ins and use curser to start each track from '0' in order to keep them together, then edit and add plug-ins again after importing to other software? As you say, time consuming but it works!
Many thanks!
