wow - low and behold, normal behaviour resumes with 10.1.3 from my superduper clone.

Back to having 4GB cache, able to use scrub trimmer without DAE warning and my pro control scrub wheel is happy as larry.

Not a happy camper with 10.2....

cheers

I am not schizophrenic and talking to myself here, but I have just had a chat with my dealer's tech guru and it would appear it may be that my playback engine was set to 1024 samples.

I had always assumed since v8 that this is what it should be set to since I have a mojo (vanilla), and have never ventured with it lower - which I am assured it can be now that v10 exists.

I am now running it at 128 or 256 on 10.1.3 (a software version which is working nicely for me)..... will report back to myself.

cheers

That's a shame because between you and me, that would make four of us!

Strange what you say though, I've always been most stable at a setting of 512 or 1024, particularly with really big sessions.

Hi Mike,

yes, I can duplicate your error messages.

My system is HD3 with 10.6.8.

When I switch my buffer to 1024 the dae error messages pop up every 3rd or 4th scrub (ctrl+mouse). With 256 buffer everything's running smooth without error messages.

Greetings,
Matthias

Many thanks Matthias - glad to know I am not completely nuts. Did you also get scrub trim trauma with the multi tool?

BTW Mike, Matthias has only proved that this isn't a problem just on your system. He has not, unfortunately, proved that you are not completely nuts! :)

I'll definitely have a play when I'm back in the studio and see if I can replicate the problem on my 10.7.4 HD3 system.

Mike,

I would suggest turning off hyperthreading in the terminal-

also, I tend to use only half my cores for PT...

Setting the Buffer to 1024 causes errors for me as well. I usually work at 256 though.
