HD Native and Lynx Aurora HD ASIO problems

Hi All,

I recently just upgraded from a 003 to an HD Native/PTHD 9/Lynx Aurora 16HD (via LT- HD card for the Lslot) setup and it sounds great!

My issue is with Win 7 not being able to see the HDN and the Aurora as an audio device. I would like to use Sequoia and Soundforge as I once used when I used the 003, but its just not available. I've uninstalled/re-installed but no luck.

Is this supposed to be recognized by Windows or by Asio compatible apps, or no?

It would be great to hear from anyone whose had experiences with this!

Nevermind,

I figured it out. There were references to the 003 in the audio options of these apps. I had to select the generic ASIO Digidesign driver and it recognized all 32 i/o. Sweet!

I guess I didn't uninstall properly then..

However, the Windows sounds do not playback. Is enabling the on-board soundcard and connecting to an outboard mixer the only way to hear the Windows sounds?

Yes

The HD Native card does not run in the Windows sound media.

You have to use another audio device for apps that use the Windows
media.

Really appreciate the response Zion! At least I know now that I'm not crazy!

Note to DTS/Avid Support..

You should add this to the documentation/FAQs for HD Native using non Avid interfaces. It might seem trivial but many people moving from LE setups on Win7 may have the same questions when they go to use Windows Media Player or other apps and the HD Native is not recognized.

This is something I hope they will implement in the near future.
I was just as surprised as you were when I found out through tech support
that HD Native dosen't have driver capability for windows apps wdm etc.
What a bummer.
