Which mac OS for PT 2019.5?

I find PT 2019.5/MacOS 10.14.4 to be the best combo since Pro Tools 9.

I can play complex HDX mix sessions at 64 or 128 buffer that had issues at 1024. Scrolling is super fast.

Perhaps the OP has plugins that are not updated for Mojave.

I did it the Apple way. Definitely didn't have time to do a clean install. I didn't spend any time troubleshooting so maybe just a clean install of PT could have fixed it? I called Avid and they said maybe the firmware on the Omni needed to be updated - but it didn't.

Easily could have been plug-in's but all of them were qualified for Mojave (mostly Kontakt and UAD plugin's, which should be good). Again, a little trouble shooting and maybe I could have figured it out.

But I figured why not and tried High Sierra and that actually seems to be working pretty well for now. Maybe I'll wait until my next computer to try Mojave and less things start getting slow/crashy.

Did you upgrade to 10.13.6 after upgrading to 2019.5 or before?



Just curious because I'm wondering if its worth the bump on my 5,1 cheese grater as I am currently on 10.12.6 (Sierra)... am wondering if 10.13.6 handles plug-ins more efficiently.

Just make sure you have a Metal-compatible video card as the stock 5,1 cards aren't.
