Re: CPU overload
Has anything changed from when the system worked (e.g OS updates, new software/hardware etc)?

Re: CPU overload
Hi, yes,I remember now, there was some software updates. Updates for itunes, airport, and two more that I can`t remember. Do you think this could be the problem? If so, is here a way to go back? My OS continues the same 10.4.11

Re: CPU overload
From another thread
http://discussions.apple.com/thread....3799&tstart=90 I think the problem was an Airport Extreme update that came out recently. It seems to be causing CPU spikes. If you follow the instructions on that post (as I did) it might solve your problems. Basically you (we) need to uninstall the Airport Extreme update. But that's a tricky thing to do without some additional software. But I'm happy to report that all is well again. And it only cost me, what, about 12 hours. Anyway, Digi, if you're still reading, it might be worth it to have a talk with Apple or at least test this fix and (if it works), spread the news. I see the CPU complaints are multiplying on the DUC. Thanks again for your help and suggestions |
