Default Upgrade advice from LE 8

I am just about to buy a new macbook pro that will be running El Capitan. I have LE 8 with an Mbox 2, (which was working fine until my old macbook pro died) which will now be useless (as far as I can tell).
What are my best options for getting a workable version of Pro Tools again?

A factor that complicates things is that I am currently living in Vietnam, so ebay and such like are pretty much ruled out and posting anything to here is super dodgey and likely to get seized.
Any Pro Tools users in Vietnam?

You can either subscribe or buy PT 12. Subscription licenses stop working when you stop paying. Buying gets you a perpetual license that will work, well, in perpetuity :)

https://shop.avid.com

Buy:
Pro Tools 12 with 1 year free upgrades:$599
1 year support and bonus plugins: $99 (optional)

Subscription:
Pro Tools 12 yearly (includes support and bonus plugins):$299
Pro Tools 12 monthly:$29.99

Keep in mind you will also need an iLok 2, and any plugins you currently use in LE will need to have AAX versions to work with PT 12 (that might be free or there may be a cost, depends on the plug).

I think I have the above info correct, hopefully someone will double check :)

You can of course buy a used, older mac for much less money and continue to use PT8LE. You might even consider doing that, keeping it optimized and use it only for PT, and buying a second mac to keep current with latest OSX and so on, and use it for everything else other than PT. There's nothing wrong with staying with PT8 if it does the job.
