Default PT MP9 questions with M-Audio Fast Track Ultra 8R

I've been working with PT MP9 for about 1 1/2 years now, and it meets my needs just fine at present. However, I'm looking to upgrade my interface from an M-Audio Fast Track Pro to a Fast Track Ultra 8R. I have three questions:
1. Is the Fast Track Ultra 8R compatible with PT MP9? (Though I think the answer to this question is 'yes,' I know Avid doesn't own most of the M-Audio stuff these days, so I'm not sure all M-Audio interfaces are still compatible with PT MP9.)
2. Do I need to uninstall my Fast Track Pro before I install the Fast Track Ultra 8R?
3. Can some of you out there who have used this interface give me some critiques on it?

The Fast Track Ultra 8R is compatible with M-Powered 9:http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...271?popup=true

Both devices use different drivers, I know there were compatibility issues between M-Audio Firewire devices, but I'm not sure about the USB ones. You could try and see, but it is possible that there will be a conflict.

I havent used an 8R or Ultra (I have several M-Audio devices, but not those). If you have the money, I'd recommend going to the ProFire 2626. It can run stand alone (not connected to a computer) and has ADAT in/out in case you ever need more inputs.

I have an Ultra 8R. In fact it is compatible all the way through ProTools 11.

Thanks for the info, DC Choppah. Joel G was kind enough to recommend a ProFire 2626, but in checking my computer, I have neither a Firewire 400 nor 800 port, so I'm glad to know that you're having success with the Ultra 8R.

Yeah, even if your computer had an integrated firewire port, it's recommended to use an add on card:http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...ility/en352647

Firewire is definitively more work and can be touchy.
