Tracks not muting

I'm trying to fade some guitar tracks I do the fade and mute the tracks but sound keeps comming out.


What am I doing wrong.

Yes I do and they won't mute either. Am I missing somthing?

you might not be writing your mute automation. are you doing it from your edit window or mix window? I usually do my mute automation in the edit window.

from the edit window:
on the guitar track you want to work with, click on "waveform" and change it to "mute"

with your selector tool, highlight what you want muted

grab your trimmer tool and pull the mute automation line down until it indicates that your selection is muted.

I believe the info is being written. The trac mutes(yello m's) even when I mute manually the sound keeps comming. I can't keep these tracks from playing nor will they fade, faders go down sound stays up?

Do you have a pre-fader send on the tracks?

How do I tell if they are pre or post fader sends? That must be it

You can choose for each individual send if you want it pre or post fader. Just click on the send, and there you'll see a box named "pre". If it's lit (white), then the send is pre fader. If it's grey, the send is post fader.
