I don't like the name either, but if it's the only bad thing about the plugin it's worth it.

But god do I hate those two words together when used as a phrase!! It's one of the most over used expressions out there. It also has lead to many adopting the false notion that you need a special compressor on the master out to achieve any type of track cohesion. Indeed, it's the sum of many processes.

However, I do have the Waves & IK's SSL Compressor, both do a great job. I'm quite happy with those. Never tried them on the master out of all things!! Haha!!

When an idea becomes all too common much of the time I get turned off by it and go for something else. I very much hate being a monkey see, monkey do kind of person. I like to be able to think for myself.

That said, it's undeniable the influence the SSL compressor has had on our music for the last 30 or so years!!

Yes, from what I'm hearing.

However, I already have Waves' model, the one from IK, and the NI version that came with Komplete. Not really looking for another one personally.

The Waves one gets a lot of use, especially when you spend that on the bundle. Even though it was at a discounted price, it still doesn't compare to the insane discounts they are doing these days!!

Re: SSL bus compressor emulations. I never used the real thing, but I've used both the waves version and the cytomic version quite alot. I simply find that most of the time it is much easier with cytomic the glue to get the punch power "three dee" and... glue than with waves. Or slate VCC bus comp for that matter.

Edit: Of course, I don't know which is a better, closer emulation, I just know what I like (and "I like what I know". )

I don't doubt that. To each their own.

I always say that if we all used exactly the same software, then Music would be hell of a lot less interesting to listen to.

Just used your voucher and got it for $89, put my SSL Collection at $140 total. I'm happy because I almost pulled the trigger on the $199 deal earlier in the week.
