Default tracks playback 1.4 seconds ahead

I'm adding some last minute bkgd vox and percussion onto a track and when I play back the tracks, the audio is roughly 1.4 seconds ahead of where I played.
For example, if I play a tambo along with a track (in good time), when I playback, the tambo is way ahead of the beat.
I do these kinds of things all the time, but suddenly today it's not playing back these tracks in sync.
I haven't changed any preferences or anything.
Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,
Ken Sluiter

yeah.. more info. if you have 5 plugs in and it routed to an aux track with 5 more plugs, etc then I can see latency being an issue BUT.. more likely you need to trash your digisetup preferences (if in os9) cause something is corrupt.

I quit PT and re-launched and now everything seems to behaving properly.
On a related note, I'm trying to lay down an organ part from my controller into a MIDI i/O and into Sampletank.
I keep getting noticable latency betweeen when I strike the note and when I hear it.
I tried using Reason thru re-wire and got the same thing.
Again, I use the MIDI side of PT regularly and have never seen this behavior.
Any ideas?

Hi,

Hi try using a smaller hardware buffer setting when you are using Rtas plug-ins its sizes will effect the latency you are experiencing. If you are using HTDM plug-ins you may want to try using the low latency StreamManager here . Also plug-ins on the master fader can delay the entire mix. Look ahead limiters like Maxim and Mater X are prime examples. I hope this helps.

Thanks,
