Default Make MIDI editor track selection independent of edit window?

I'm working on a project where I need to be back and forth between the audio edit window and the MIDI editor window. Problem is, every time I click on a track in the regular edit window, the display in the MIDI editor window changes. I have to go back to the group list and select "show all track in group" for the group I'm working on, and it takes time and interrupts my train of thought.

I've looked long and hard at PT preferences and can't see anything that would affect this - am I missing something? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Myles

I'm pretty sure that the Midi editor follows the "selected" track...

Just rockin'...what more is there?

you can turn off scrolling in the midi edit window if that helps. Also the shortcut to toggle between the midi edit window and edit/mix on mac is CTRL + the '=/+' key (similar to CMD + the '=/+' key to toggle between mix and edit)

sorry if that doesn't relate to what you're asking :)

Yep, that's what I'm thinking. It would just be so nice to be able lock the MIDI editor so that it holds on to what you're working on...
