Default Importing iPhone Videos

Anyone else have an issue where imported iPhone videos appear upside down? They appear correctly in Windows Media Player, Quicktime and VLC.

I even flipped it upside down in VLC and then tried again but it still shows as upside down. New to the forum (and Pro Tools) so any help is appreciated! Thanks!!

Transcoding in VLC without flipping it upside down would probably solve the problem.

Yeah I've had that, even though it was fine in Final Cut Pro. Never found out the cause, just had a massive shrug of the shoulders and the usual, "Yeah that's what Pro Tools does" remark to the client.

Gotta say I haven't seen that either.

Is it every video, or just certain ones?

There’s something about iPhone pics and videos that confuses certain editors. Pics that I sync via Dropbox from my iPhone to PC often come in with the wrong orientation. If I bring it in from iCloud though they’re ok. I’ve had iPhone video be upside down in Vegas. My assumption has always been that there’s just something about the way they’re tagged that’s not universal.
