HDX with PT non HD on Sierra ?

Ok after contact with Avid Support, now I know... you can not use PT non HD with Avid HD Hardware ..

This Mean, I will sale my system and go for Apogee or something more Human

HI I'm new to the community as a member so excuse me I'm not posting in a proper way...

I'm having the same proble, need it to update to sierra to be able to use other softwares that i need, i have the Avid HDX card and Pro Tools 10HD and 11HD, i just need the driver for my card so i can use it on sierra and Avid is forcing me to pay about $2000 for PT 12 HD... i don't want PT 12 HD, i just want the driver for my HDX card which i bout it new from AVID by it self. So why the cant provide me with the current updates so i can keep using my card with any DWA that i decide to use? I don't think that is fair that after you pay more than $4000 for a HDX card they will stop providing with the drivers y less than 4 years.

The answer shouldn't be to sell the Hardware... AVID need to keep supporting the owners of the product that they sell to the costumer and not try to get more money whenever they feel like... we are not talking about an obsolete card or a LEGACY card... the should keep providing the driver Free of charge or at least at a decent price.. not forcing the owner to pay thousands of Dollars to be able to get the driver.

I did open a case with avid and no mater what i tell them the answer feel like from an automated system, " you need to buy the PT 12 to get the new HDX Driver because comes in the same package "... as far as i know they have the ability to get just the driver and provide it to the costumer.. they own the company ! Lol

If any one have an idea on how we can solve the driver problem it will be appreciated if knowledge is shared.

If you upgrade OS to Sierra, you also must upgrade your PT to 12, period.
